Since , as a part of the Japanese national project called “Moonlight Project”, the Agency of Industrial Science and Technology of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (AIST of MITI) has promoted Research and Development of a Super Heat Pump (SHP) Energy Accumulation System, and New Energy and Industrial Technology.   This book is the first one about this combination of components and presents the state of the art of this technology. It is based on a joint research project of two programmes of the International Energy Agency: the Solar Heating and Cooling Programme (SHC) and the Heat Pump Programme. A ground-source heat pump research project has been carried out at the Hope Crossing (Habitat for Humanity) site in Oklahoma City, OK. OG&E is coordinating the project and has gathered many collaborators to participate in the project. The following documents explain the background of the project and some preliminary results.
